There are also lessons custom tailored for advanced surfers and expert guides can be hired for a surf-ari where an experienced instructor will take you a location with bigger waves and much stronger surf. This is defiantly for the more advanced student.

Surfing on Maui can be fun and easy and there are many schools offering lessons. Be sure to inquire about which is the best school to chose from and get my personal endorsement. Not everyone is great at teaching and it’s a very competitive activity. Seems like everyone has gotten in on the surfing lesson band wagon.
