Maui Surfing Lessons for Men
Maui surfing lessons is dedicated to providing a safe environment for each student. We want this to be a safe, fun, and memorable Maui water sport experience.
Each lesson is adapted to the ability of each student, regardless of how much experience that student has had. Over the years, many of our students have been young boys, teens and grown men. Maui is the perfect spot to learn to surf and since our instructors can get you up on the board and surfing in one lesson, you’ll be able to go from beginner to intermediate in one or two lessons.
I suggest maybe a group lesson at first and then a private surfari with an instructor who can provide one on one instruction. This allows you to advance to the highest level that your vacation time offers you. Depending on the time of year and the condition of the waves, you can have a qualified instructor take you out to surf spots like Hookipa, Honolua Bay, Freight trains, Shark pit, Lahaina Breakwall or even Cove Park when the waves break big.
The most common mistake I have seen with men surfing is that they are not guided about the correct boards size. Many men that I have seen surfing on Maui typically have boards that are too short. The problem with a board that is too short is several things. Number one, the board won’t float the surf dude properly. And a board that won’t float you won’t ride you. And, besides that, a short board for an inexperienced surfer makes catching the wave next to impossible. You’ll have to paddle like crazy to catch the wave and when and if you do catch it, once you go to stand up, balancing is next to impossible.
So men, when you do surf on Maui, be certain you have good instruction and the right board.
